Naz & Matt Foundation

An Evening to Find Acceptance

The Naz and Matt Foundation was set up in 2014 following the sad loss of Matt’s fiancé, Naz, who took his own life two days after his deeply religious family confronted him about his sexuality.

Naz and Matt Foundation exists to empower and support LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Intersex) individuals, their friends and family to work towards resolving challenges linked to sexuality or gender identity, particularly where religion is heavily influencing the situation. They are a registered UK charity and have won multiple awards for our work building bridges between religious and LGBTQI+ communities.

This evening event is to launch an important screening of a new documentary and to make some important announcements. Most importantly this event is to honour and commemorate Naz and his life.

Women of Color Diversifying Entrepreneurship in London

It’s not a secret that the entrepreneurial ecosystem in London has a diversity issue.

We want to change that - but we need your help.

Recent campaigns and movements have mainly recognised gender diversity (e.g. pay gap) but are failing to recognise the unique experiences and the barriers women of colour face when, for example, starting or growing a business.

Hatch Enterprise and YSYS would like to invite you to take part in a roundtable discussion and photoshoot on Tuesday 17th April, as part of our Women of Color in Business” campaign. Our aim is to bring together 30 women of colour who are building amazing business and empowering their community. We need to begin to highlight, celebrate and support the role models within our community. For that, we want to know what challenges you currently face and how we can help you build the business you want.

We would love for you to take part in our event! Please let us know if you can ASAP to secure a place, and also feel free to recommend other ladies.

Inclusive Leadership Lab 2018

TrustLab presents a peer-coaching community for discovering courageous inclusive leadership

From #metoo and #timesup to #blacklivesmatter and #transisbeautiful, diversity and inclusion (D&I) are headline news like never before. It’s clear there is a new urgency for organisations to refocus their efforts to create true cultures of equality, diversity and inclusion. With new terminology emerging weekly, and the churn of online discourse shedding more heat than light, 'more of the same’ won’t cut it. How will you adapt your leadership to rise up to the challenge, rather than drowning in the complexity, or letting the chance for change pass you by?

TrustLab is proud to host an ‘Inclusive Leadership Lab', a new peer-coaching programme designed to help professionals in Diversity and Inclusion discover new courageous approaches to inclusive leadership.

Applications now closed.  For further details, do get in touch: hello@trustlab.org.uk.

Smashing the Glass Ceiling - how to get more women into politics

There are 1 million more women, than men, in the UK but it has taken 100 years to get 32% of women into the UK Government.  Surely this is not a fair representation of the UK nation.  And how much longer will it take to get a fair representation of our nation and its rich cultural diversity into our UK Government?

With a fairer representation, some of the issues that need urgent attenion such as domestic violence and honour killings would be tackled with more vigour and pressure.

Join Lesley Abdela, British expert on women's rights and representation, Frances Scott from 50:50 Parliament , Polly MacKenzie from Demos, Azzees Minott from 2-3 Degrees and the Chair for the night Mary Fenwick, International Business Coach and Jounalist, for a lively debate on how to get more women into UK politics.  What are the barriers and how do we change the current inequalities in our democractic system.
