Founder & Director

Karen has had a varied career, as entrepreneur, fundraiser and community builder. Her purpose driven career started in the third sector in 2003, after a career with a large global advertising and marketing firm.  Since turning her focus from the corporate world to the world of not-for-profit, she has accomplished many different roles within the third sector, from fundraising, event management, volunteer management, communication   strategy   and   front-line  delivery. In 2015, Karen started Absolute Alchemy, which hosts events within existing communities, to enable dialogue and create a call to action on issues around human rights and inclusivity and diversity.  Karen is a trained Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner, that offers creative and relational approaches to working within the community. She has a core belief that through positive relationships and community engagement, change can made and real solutions found to complex issues. 

In 2017, Karen joined Hatch  to manage the Female Founders Accelerator Programme and since then she has gone on to develop investHER, a community of female investors, that invest in early stage start-ups.


Events Producer

Yvonne is an event producer and has a burning passion for creating events which have a lasting, powerful impact when connecting experts, business professionals and community practitioners.

She has spent over 18 years working in the non-profit, charitable and corporate sectors and started her event management journey working alongside change-makers, and went on to broaden her business skills in the diplomatic, media and youth charity sectors.

Over the years, she has developed specialist knowledge in event production, conferences and PR events, sponsorship, event marketing, media and diplomatic relations and worked alongside people of all disciplines – be it from secretaries of state, editors, broadcasters, journalists to chief executives of industry and the
non-profit sector. She has spent the latter years working with spirited teenagers, start-up entrepreneurs and community activists, where she was introduced to the power of emotional intelligence in the workplace. She has since qualified as a NLP Practitioner and Certified Life Coach.

Yvonne counterbalances her working life by pursuing a healthy lifestyle in the great outdoors. She takes people walking through the countryside near London and has developed a great passion for discovering how the natural environment benefits mental wellbeing, especially for those living in fast-paced urban environments.

Content Strategist & Events Manager

Lana is a content strategist, writer and events management consultant who loves starting meaningful conversations. She creates compelling strategies, events and content to help brands and publications connect with their audiences on a deeper level.

Organising and marketing events while studying Law at the University of Sussex sparked Lana's passion for content and events. After launching her career in conference production, she went on to market a graduate programme for a global professional services provider.

Later, Lana honed her content marketing skills devising content strategies and creative campaigns at a leading digital marketing agency. From here, she stepped into an editorial role commissioning and editing articles for a healthcare news publication that amassed millions of views each month.

Over the last four years, Lana has helped grow Brighton Digital Women, a non-profit which she co-founded. Along with her co-founders, Lana edited and published articles from aspiring writers and ran inclusive monthly events to support women in tech to progress into leadership roles.

Lana took the leap to freelance life in 2017. Being freelance allows her to deliver great work for clients she loves in healthcare, tech, education and other sectors.

Passionately outspoken about mental health and diversity, Lana believes sharing experiences reduces stigma. Lana is driven to work with brands and publications with a purpose beyond making profit, that want to make the world a better place.


Business Support

Renée has extensive experience in a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Financial Services and more recently the Automotive industry. She has a proven track record of being an organiser through and through and has always enjoyed supporting her colleagues, administratively and commercially. Renée will keep the wheels turning, dealing with the detail and learning how to be quite resourceful on occasions! At the start of 2019 Renée decided she wanted to move away from the corporate world. She has for the last few months been working for an international charity and also volunteering with a charity on her doorstep. We are delighted she has chosen to now also work with Absolute Alchemy to continue her excellent business support and this time working on initiatives that feel more in line with her own values.
